Long gone are the days of scoping out the best spot to ring in the new year. Instead, we opt to spend time at home (or someone's house), surrounded by good friends and family, eating incredible food, sipping, and laughing the night away. This year, I was adventurous and decided to make my own cocktails. Here are two: to the left is a slightly varied long island iced tea. I call it a Planoan Iced Tea. to the right, we have a white lady cloverfield. Honestly, I named it after the base drinks, a white lady and something-clover-or-another. Both of them were quite delicious and quite strong WHOA!We had several out of town friends celebrating with us. This is the happy couple that traveled the farthest with us. They came all the way from Detroit via Austin. wowzers! Aren't they stinkin' cute?
When the clock struck midnight, we kissed, we hugged, we toasted, we popped party poppers, we ran outside and dusted off 2009, and I broke out the sparklers while dancing under the blue moon.
Here are all of our shoes, resting at the entrance. It was cold and wet out, so to keep from tracking in all sorts of mud and wet, we asked they deposit their kicks here. My, my we are blessed by so many loved ones who happily spent the new year with us.
Happy 2010! Cheers!
