Lollipop Flowers

Saturday, January 22, 2011

With Mari's birthday coming up and Valentine's day just around the corner from that, I needed a simple craft that would make use of the 50+ Dum Dums. I did a search on the Google and found Craft Elf. This is a great site with lots of ideas, I just wish there wasn't as many ads on the page because it can be quite distracting. Anyway, I opted to go with lollipop flowers because I have oodles of tissue paper (the wrinkled kind adds even more texture to your flowers!), the lollipops, and some floral tape too. This ended up being a really inexpensive craft for me.

You will need:

  • Tissue Paper
  • Scissors
  • Flower shape
  • Lollipops
  • Floral Tape

Here is my shape of the petals. I took several layers of tissue paper and stacked them on top of each other, then cut out the shape.

Then you can see how I stacked 4 pieces on top of each other and snipped a hole in the middle to slide the lollipop.

Finally, gather the tissue and wrap with floral tape. Stretch the floral tape to activate the "sticky" power and wrap it on itself. Voila...lollipop flowers!

Brilliant! A wonderful idea for all that tissue paper we seem to collect... Love it! Did you take a picture of them all done with the lollipops?
